Dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumour (DNET)

Patient Data

Age: 8 years
Gender: Male

Prominent bony remodelling of the inner table of the skull. 

Large cortical mass with markedly increased T2 signal and associated overlying bony remodelling. It is low on T1 with no enhancement. Features suggest the diagnosis of a DNET.

Intraoperative images demonstrating abnormal cortex and remodelling of the skull vault. 

Case Discussion

Histology confirmed the diagnosis of Dysembryoplastic neuroepithelial tumour (DNET) - typical appearances.
