Hallux varus

Forefoot deformity, swelling and pain in the 1st MTP joint.

Age: 55
Gender: Male

X-rays show a medial deviation of the big toe and osteoarthritis of the MTP I joint. Congenital hallux varus, like in this case, is very rare. The most common cause of this deformity is failed hallux valgus surgery.
